Adding/Updating Products

Create a product from Vendor/Seller dashboard

Navigate to vendor dashboard. Click on Products from the left menu and then Add New Products, or click the button from the top right corner. It will open a new window where you will be able to create a new product very easily with providing the most important details only.

Basic Details

The common information about a product are the title, price, description. Discount price is optional. You can even schedule discounts for a certain amount of time. You can enter a starting date and end date to apply automatic discounts to your product.

Selecting Product Type –

  1. Simple Product

These types of products are simple and have no variants. They are single and standalone products, which does not require any other information to define different variants.

  1. Variable Product

A variable product is a product that has different types of variants. For example, you might want to sell a dress which is available in 3 different colors and sizes. So this option will enable you to add those colors and sizes you need. You can add variations based on anything you like, perhaps material used or the stitching style. If your variations are not mentioned you can contact the DCraftisco support to add your variations.

  1. Virtual Products

If you want to sell digital courses/zoom courses, or if you have recorded videos you can also serve the file from Dropbox, Google Drive or Vimeo or some other file hosting site you like.

  1. Downloadable Products

If you are selling photos, music, software or any digital product, then this is the option to use. If you click on the Add File button, three more fields will be added.

Simple Product

To create a product: [(Click on Link–Before adding new product kindly calculate the product price with commission)   If you add your product cost without calculating the new product price, while disbursing the amount to your bank, an automatic deduction of commission from your  selling price shall happen.]

1. Go to seller Dashboard-Click on Products-Click on Add New

User can also click on the cube  icon displayed on the top right corner.

2. Enter

  • Title, (Click Link)Price, Description, Product image (you can upload multiple images), category.
  • Discount price is optional. You can even schedule discounts for a certain amount of time. You can enter a starting date and end date to apply automatic discounts to your product.

3. Inventory:here you can manage your stock. You can add a unique id or SKU (stock keeping unit) to your product and also manage your stock and when to replenish the stock.

You might want to take some pre-orders before your next batch comes up. So you can Allow Back Order to let the customers place orders even if the product is out of stock.

Sold Individually: Only a single qty of the product can be ordered. You can uncheck this option if more than 1 qty can be ordered

4. Shipping: DCraftisco has created some standard shipping classes. This is just to reflect the varying amount a vendor can charge for shipping. You can select the shipping charges from the drop down.

***Note: Customers do not like the plus plus cost format, hence the best way to add price is to include the shipping in the cost and select ‘free shipping’ from the drop down.

To calculate Price(click link) calculate the new product price and select free shipping from the list

5. Tax: Here the vendor can only select the pre-made tax classes. (click link) calculate the new product price )and select None from the list

7. Linked:

  • Upsell: You can give customers the option to buy an item that is slightly better than the one they are considering. A link to your own products.
  • Cross -sell:Similar to up-selling, cross selling is the act of offering customers additional items that will go well with the one they are purchasing. For eg, if a buyer chooses an earring, you might show a link to a matching necklace.

8. Product Policies: An important step. Here you can set the policies regarding the products.

  • Shipping policy: How it will be shipped?, Within how many days will it be shipped? , Whicch courier partner is used to ship? etc
  • Refund Policy: Whether the product is refundable/non refundable. If refundable how many days to refund
  • Cancellation/Return/Exchange Policy: What is the cancellation/return/exchange policy of your products

9. Click on Submit and your new product shall be published.

Vendors cannot edit a live product but it will be published only by admin approval.

Vendors cannot delete a live product. You can make the stock zero, or you can raise a request to make it invisible to customers.

Add a Variable Product

Variable products are products which may have varieties. For eg if you are selling a t shirt, the same t shirt may come in different colors or different sizes or both.

When you select a variable product from the drop down, some additional options shall be visible.

  1. Go to seller Dashboard-Click on Products-Click on Add New-Select Variable Product

You can also choose DCraftisco shipping. If you choose our shipping then kindly (click link)calculate the new product price and select free shipping from the list

6.Tax: Here the vendor can only select the pre-made tax classes.

7.Attributes: Select which attribute your product varies: For eg a Top is available in 2 colors -Blue, Black and 2 different sizes 36, 38

  • You can also add your own Attributes, for eg if your product comes in different designs
    • Add New
    • Name it as Designs
    • Values will be seperated with ‘|’ for eg Design 1 | Design 2 | Design 3

8.Variations: Choose Create Variations from All Attributes

9.Click ok. This will create all the possible combinations of the attributes selected. For eg the Top can be chosen in Blue in sizes 36 or 38, or Black in sizes 36 or 38

  • Click the down arrow key to reveal the options. Here you can set prices if they differ for each variation or you can keep the same price for all of the variants.
    • Add  Cost
    • Add image
    • Check Manage stock and add stock qty with you, SKU code to track stock
    • Shipping class can be kept same as that as parent.
    • Please Note: Add images for each color variant

10.Add your product/store policies

11.Click on Submit and Your product shall be published.

What is SKU?

SKU stands for Stock Keeping Unit. It should be a unique set of characters which will not  match to any other product. you can create your won code to keep stock of products.

Enable Product Stock Management

Let’s say you have 10 pieces of the product and you don’t want to receive after orders are placed for 10 units. If you enable stock management and enter 10 in the quantity field, then after 10 units are ordered, this product will show a message that all the quantities are sold and there is no stock.
